Member of Knesset Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) called on Sunday for haredi-religious women to vote for the Likud, since the haredi parties "do not count their status." Speaking at the We Women conference in Tel Aviv, she added, "Don't wait for the door to be opened."

The Degel Hatorah faction of United Torah Judaism rejected Hotovely's words saying that despite her personal positive record, Likud "in practice closed the door to women." Degel Hatorah Knesset Member Uri Maklev cited Likud members for initiating legislation on a weekly basis against the sanctity of the Sabbath and the tradition of Israel, as well as reducing child support payments and the age for mothers holding on to their children.
