Thousands of cranes, eager to return to nesting areas in northern Europe after spending the winter in Ethiopia, left the Hula Valley in northern Israel this morning to roam but encountered a wall of clouds to the north and returned to the valley.
The inclement weather created a "traffic jam" in the valley's nature-reserve reservoir.
