The police distanced some senior operatives involved in the Sha'ar HaRachamim takeover from the Temple Mount, including Wakf Council head Sheikh Abd al-'Azim Salhab, who was distanced for 40 days, and Wakf Deputy Director Najah Bakirat, who was expelled for four months.
It is reported that the mosque, built in the Bab a-Rahma compound, continues operation.
