In a post on Twitter, former mayor of Jerusalem and Likud candidate for the Knesset Nir Barkat spoke out in reference to the indictment of Prime Minister Netanyahu, writing:
"I sincerely hope that the Prime Minister will succeed and prove his innocence. It is important to remember that even today the Prime Minister has the presumption of innocence.
We have to put aside the background noise and unite behind Netanyahu and the Likud in order to defend the state and continue its growth and strengthening."
