UN: Israel Gaza response 'may constitute' crimes against humanity

(AFP) - Chairman Santiago Canton of the United Nations Independent Commission of Inquiry on the protests in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, set up by the UN Human Rights Council to study rioting in Gaza, said in a statement on Thursday, "Israeli soldiers committed violations of international human rights and humanitarian law. Some of those violations may constitute war crimes or crimes against humanity."
