The land of a high-ranking Samaritan, some 1,600 years old, was unearthed in archaeological excavations at Tzur Natan.

The Israel Antiquities Authority notes that this is the second winepress known in Israel, and contains a mosaic with a blessing inscription belonging to the Samaritans.

The IAA excavations took place as part of the construction of a new neighborhood in the settlement, initiated by the Israel Lands Authority.
