Retired Supreme Court justice Salim Jubran, who served as chairman of the Central Elections Committee, has criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his warning that Arab political parties will join the Blue and White Party to form a government. Interviewed by Israeli public radio, he said Netanyahu's words were superfluous and miserable, and harm the lives of all Arab citizens in the country."
He had similar words for Chairman Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid Party, who said the Arab parties were not needed. Noting "that for now" the Arabs have equal rights, he asked, "How can one ignore a million and 800,000 Arab citizens who have a legitimate right to unite in parties and represent their interests?" He concluded by telling politicians to stop making an issue out of Arabs.
