Director Alan Baker of the Institute for Contemporary Affairs in Jerusalem has criticized Secretary-General Saeb Erekat of the Palestine Liberation Organization for a Twitter post on Monday in which the senior Palestinian Authority negotiator said, "Israeli apartheid, colonization and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is a crime against humanity and remains unquestioned to this day."
The former legal advisor to Israel's Foreign Ministry and former Israeli ambassador to Canada responded, "Your liberal repetition of the terms 'apartheid','colonization' and 'ethnic cleansing' are indicative of the fact that you really don't know what they mean, and are nothing but cheap demagoguery, aimed at trying to generate international support by using hackneyed exspressions."
