Foreign Ministry Spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon has thanked Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen of Denmark for criticizing the United Nations Human Rights Council's systematic anti-Israel bias.

Samuelsen said his country would not take part in the council's annual Item 7 bashing of Israel, explaining, "It undermines the credibility of this Council when it insists on singling out Israel—a democracy—under its own agenda item. All countries should be treated on equal footing." Writing on Twitter, Nahshon said the council "has been taken hostage by an automatic majority of dictatorships, using Israel as a scapegoat in order to avoid scrutiny for their ugly misdeeds."
