The IDF military court today filed an indictment against the former commander of the Kirya base, whose service was terminated a few months ago.

The charges relate to offenses of breach of trust, use of IDF property for non-military purposes, and inappropriate behavior. This is due to the exploitation of his officer's status to change placement and ease service conditions of soldiers with whose parents the officer had social and economic relations; private use of military vehicles; and using soldiers under his command for private purposes.

As part of the plea bargain formulated with the officer, he will confess to the indictment and take responsibility for the acts detailed therein. According to the plea bargain that will be brought before the military court for approval, the officer will be subject to a penalty of lowering from a rank of colonel to the rank of major, 100 days in prison that will be served in military operations, a fine of NIS 22,000, and a suspended prison sentence.
