This week, the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria, in cooperation with the Water Authority and Mekorot national water company, began work to add a water line bypassing the Samarian Palestinian Authority town Bardala, which is located in the northern Jordan Valley, near the Jewish community of Mehola.
The laying of the line, expected to be completed this year, stemmed from the phenomenon of many water thefts in the area by means of pirated connections connected to the existing water line, an illegal phenomenon that harms the agriculture sector in the area.
