Knesset member Tzipi Livni, chairwoman of the Hatenua' party, who resigned this week from political life, is optimistic about the union on the left between Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz.

Livni said, "I called for a union to create a revolution that would lead to a new path for Israel, to preserve it as a Jewish and democratic state and to separate [from the Palestinian Authority] for peace. I hope that this morning's union is the beginning."
