Following a tour of Samaria, Republican Congressmen Andy Barr and Andy Harris have expressed their opposition to the uprooting of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria under the Middle East peace plan of United States President Donald Trump, to be unveiled after the April 9th Knesset election.
Barr, a representative of Kentucky's 6th District, said that the best way to achieve peace and prosperity for all, Jews and Arabs, is to develop industry in Judea and Samaria, which enables integration and connections between the sides, not separation. Harris, who represents Maryland's 1st District, said he thinks that most Israelis believe that uprooting communities is a mistaken idea and does not think the president will make such a proposal, in spite of statements that Israel and the Palestinian Authority will both have to make compromises.
