Chairman Hanan Melcer of the Elections Committee said Monday that commanders and other soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces may not be photographed with candidates in the elections, including the prime minister.
The decision was made in the Labor Party's petition against the Likud for using Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's pictures with soldiers as part of the party's campaign. The Supreme Court justice also ruled that the Likud would bear the costs of the petition in the amount of 15,000 shekels.
