The Otzma Yehudit Party said, Monday evening, "Despite the alienated conduct of Member of Knesset Smotrich and Rabbi Peretz over the past few days, we are extending our hand for a merger, out of responsibility for the future of the Land of Israel and to prevent the rise of a leftist government."
Responding to reports Prime Minister Binyamin Netanayhu's wish to meet with Jewish Home and the National Union on the matter, Otzma said, "We have given up a lot and compromised on [ballot] places and roles, and we hope that the Jewish Home and the National Union will understand the magnitude of the hour and common sense will prevail."
