The military court indicted a Netzach Yehuda haredi battalion officer with the rank of lieutenant. The IDF reported the officer was charged with offenses of non-prevention of crime, negligence, and inappropriate behavior, because he noticed his soldiers violently assaulting Arab detainees while they were handcuffed and blindfolded but did not prevent them from continuing to beat them.

In so doing, he refrained from fulfilling his duty and command responsibility as an officer and commander.

The officer was suspended following the incident.

A military source notes the officer was not involved in beating the detainees. The indictment was submitted because he did not exercise command responsibility and prevent the violence.
