Uzi Dayan, a former deputy chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces and a Likud candidate for the Knesset, has attacked former chief of staff Benny Gantz, who claimed that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu endangered IDF soldiers when he exposed Israel's activity in Syria.

Reflecting on comments made by Gantz about what he did in Gaza, Dayan told Arutz Sheva, the retired general said, "We will not listen to Gantz o who is endangering our soldiers, and the one who is making an election campaign here at the expense of security is, in fact, Gantz. So we will not deteriorate into such arguments and he certainly will not explain to us how to protect the lives of our soldiers." He added, We continue to attack Syria so that Hezbollah and Iran will understand that we will not allow them to build an advanced post against us in Syria."
