Chairman Avi Dichter of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, a cosponsor of the law on offsetting salaries to terrorists and their families from tax transfers to the Palestinian Authority, has rejected threats by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas not to receive the money in the event that the terrorism salaries are deducted.
Mixing an Arabic expression with his Hebrew, Dichter said, "Abu Mazen - threats? Not here! Will you continue to pay salaries to terrorists? We will deduct your funds. The law that I initiated and passed along with Elazar Stern will pass and be implemented! An authority that bases its existence on salaries for terrorists is a terrorist authority and will be treated accordingly."
