Shas Party Chairman Aryeh Deri said, Sunday evening, "I have known [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu since even before he entered politics. I was already Interior minister and he asked to consult with me what to do and how to get in. A student who surpasses his teacher," according to Channel 12 Television.
Referring to his own corruption conviction and pending investigation, the interior minister said, "I know what the prime minister and his family are going through. And therefore we say we support and will support Netanyahu and recommend him to the president [to form the government] and as prime minister as much as the law allows. And the law states that he can serve as long as there is no final judgment. Period!"
