Sources have informed Globes that negotiations over the past few weeks between the production crew of the Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled for Tel Aviv in May, and the Film and Television Workers Union regarding issues related to payment and working conditions have run aground.
The talks relate to dozens of people working in professions such as studio photographers and other behind-the-scenes staff, who should also be employed during the preliminary filming, such as in the photographs of the "postcards" (about 40 videos showing each team on the landscapes of the host country) and in the photographs of the competition itself. The shooting of the "postcards" was due to begin on Sunday, but due to the explosion of the negotiations, it seems that they will not be able to start on time. Producers have talked about bringing needed personnel in from Portugal, the host of last year's event.
