Left-wing activists demonstrated Tuesday outside the home of former chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi of the Israel Defense Forces and called on him to act to unite the center-left parties.
Ashkenazi went out to the activists and congratulated them, "Unification is what needs to be done, it is always true and certainly now. I hope we'll be the bearers of good news." He concluded by saying, "I will decide within a few days. You know until when you can decide, I am working on it. That's what I'm doing."
