US President Donald Trump has invited Judah Samet, who survived the Tree of Life synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh this past October, to attend his State of the Union address, the White House said on Monday night.
Samet, who survived the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp as a child, arrived in Israel after World War II and served in the IDF’s Paratrooper’s Brigade before moving to the United States in the 1960s. He survived the massacre as he was late for services that morning.
