Attorney Avichai Mandelblit said, Monday, the fact that a cousin has already paid $300,000 for the legal defense of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife does not change his conclusion that the cousin may not fund Netanyahu's legal defense.
Mandelblit said the prime minister will have to ask the permits committee to retroactively approve the transfer of the sum and present the committee with documentation. He stressed that if the committee rejects the request or refuses to approve retroactively the payment of the money, the prime minister will be required to refund the money to the cousin.
