Sources in the Jewish Home Party have been working against candidate Davidi Ben-Zion in the past few hours and are campaigning against him on social networks under the slogan "We don't need Smotrich II."
Ben-Zion rejected the campaign against him and said, "We're busy adding light and good for a religious mission in Ofakim, Sderot, Carmiel, Maalot, Givat Shmuel, and Petach Tikvah, not being dragged into a discourse that's not practical and unworthy of a party of values like ours.
"I came to be a loyal emissary of the Jewish Home grass roots and I'm proud and excited by the broad support I receive from the north, the south, the center, and Jerusalem. 'Smotrich' isn't a dirty word; if it means that I would be a determined fighter for the people of Israel and the national religious public, the yeshivot, the communities, the core groups, the youth movements, and the institutions, then the answer is absolutely yes."
