Britain's Foreign and Commonwealth Office has announced the appointment of Neil Wigan OBE to succeed David Quarrey as Ambassador to Israel.
Wigan's tenure as ambassador will start in June. He has just completed a three-year-stint as director of the office's Africa Directorate. He headed the political section in Tel Aviv from 2002 to 2006 before heading the office's Arab, Israel and North Africa Group and serving as Deputy Director for Middle East and Wider World, Foreign and Defence Policy Secretariat in the Cabinet Office.
