Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided on Tuesday to set up a government commission to investigate the failures in the last year's Nachal Tzafit disaster in which 10 students at a pre-military academy were killed in flash flooding in southern Israel, according to Channel 13 Television.
The committee will be headed by an independent external entity in accordance with the parents' demands. The establishment of the committee is still dependent on legal approvals due to the timing of the decision with the election period. Military Secretary Avi Blot was appointed by Netanyahu to deal with the establishment of the committee and with the parents.
