Michael Atlan, the head of the Consumer Protection Authority has told the CEO's of Arkia and Israir to stop selling tickets for departures from Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv after the date of its closing.
Saying it's "misleading the consumers," Atlan said the Authority will consider its steps regarding the violations that have already been committed. He said the location of the departure of a flight is a significant detail for the consumer when purchasing the ticket, and the failure to disclose the fact that the field will be closed on the date of the flight (after July 1st) constitutes a deception regarding the material details of the transaction that the companies must disclose to the consumer prior to execution of the transaction.
