The European Union’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on Wednesday called for the immediate start of political process in Venezuela and condemned violence and excessive use of force at protests by security forces.
“The Venezuelan people have the right to peacefully demonstrate, to freely chose its leaders and decide its future,” she said in a statement.
