Saudi Arabia on Tuesday barred five Brazilian chicken processing plants from exporting to the Middle Eastern country, Brazil’s meat trade association said.
Officials in Brazil claimed that the Saudi move is linked to the decision of Brazil's new president, Jair Bolsonaro, to transfer his country's embassy to Jerusalem. However, Saudi Arabia said that the move was made for "technical reasons" and that it had nothing to do with the decision on Jerusalem.
