As of February 1, new drivers under the age of 24 will have to go to the Ministry of Transportation's website to declare that they have finished the period in which they have to be accompanied by an older driver, and not at the branches of the Licensing Office, as was customary until now.

The move is intended to shorten lines and waiting times at the licensing offices, where the report accounted for 10 percent of the offices' activity. Since the option to use the internet started two years ago, only about 40 percent of the new drivers have declared the end of the escort period online site, while most of the new drivers have declared the end of the period at the licensing offices.
