Germany has announced it is banning Mahan Air, Iran's second largest carrier from operating in the country immediately.
Foreign ministry spokesman Christofer Burger told reporters in Berlin the decision was taken to safeguard Germany's "foreign and security policy interests". He cited increasing evidence of Iranian intelligence activity in Europe and noted the airline's ties to Iran's Revolutionary Guards and military transport flights to Syria, Where Iran supports President Bashar Al-Assad.
