The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported on Monday that Hamas had uncovered a "grand plan" by Israel to spy on the organization's chief of staff, Marwan Issa.
A source in Hamas told the newspaper that the Israeli espionage program was exposed when "advanced devices" planted by collaborators were discovered in the al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Another listening device was also found planted by a "collaborator" in the car of one of Issa's assistants. According to the report, Hamas succeeded in arresting the "collaborator" who planted the device.
