Sources have told the London-based Al-Arabi Al-Jadid newspaper that Egypt does not intend to open the Rafah crossing between Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula until it is operated by the Palestinian Authority.
The sources say the message was sent to all the organizations operating in Gaza by senior Egyptian officials. The crossing has been closed to Sinai-bound traffic from Gaza since PA personnel left the crossing in a dispute with Gaza's Hamas rulers.
