State Comptroller Yosef Shapira has condemned Minister Yoav Gallant for remarks reported this week, in which Gallant claimed previous comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss and former attorney general Yehuda Weinstein were extorted to prevent him from being appointed chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces a few years ago, according to Globes.
Shapira said, "I reject, with disgust, these attacks, and certainly by a senior official who seeks the trust of the public. Both the Attorney General and the State Comptroller, operate in a completely professional manner and do not consider political considerations in their decisions."
