The Environmental Protection Ministry warns that during these hours unusual air pollution was recorded in the Negev, Arava, and Eilat areas due to dust. It is expected that air pollution will decrease as the rains start in the evening.
The high air pollution is connected to a deep outlet over the eastern Mediterranean that causes dust to arrive from Egypt to Israel.
The Environmental Protection Ministry and the Health Ministry recommend that sensitive people including those with heart disease, lung disease, the elderly, children, and pregnant women refrain from strenuous physical activity outside.
The Environmental Protection Ministry will continue to update the public according to forecast data and data measured in the monitoring stations throughout the country.
