President Reuven Rivlin delivered a speech at the ceremony for winners of the 2019 Wolf Foundation Prize at the President's Residence. The prize is awarded each year for unique contributions in the fields of science and art.
At the event, Wolf Foundation Acting Chairman Professor Dan Shechtman handed over the decision of the 2019 awards committee and the names of the winners. Wolf Foundation Chairman Education Minister Naftali Bennett and Wolf Foundation Director Yinon Berman also spoke at the event.
These are the 2019 Wolf Foundation Prize winners:
- THE WOLF FOUNDATION PRIZE IN MEDICINE - Prof. Jeffrey Friedman;
- THE WOLF FOUNDATION PRIZE IN MATHEMATICS - Prof. Gregory Lawler, in collaboration with Prof. Jean Francis Lagal;
- THE WOLF FOUNDATION PRIZE IN AGRICULTURE - Prof. David Zilberman;
- THE WOLF PRIZE IN ARCHITECTURE - Architect Moshe Safdie;
- THE WOLF FOUNDATION PRIZE IN CHEMISTRY - Prof. Steven L. Buchwald, co-authored with Prof. Johann F. Hartwig.
