The Civil Service Commission has decided not to launch a disciplinary investigation against the head of the National Security Council, Meir Ben Shabat, who met with Rabbi Chaim Druckman at the request of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to prevent the coalition from being dismantled.
A statement from the commission said, "According to Ben Shabat, his meeting with the rabbi took place following a brief conversation with the prime minister, in which he briefed ministers on the security challenges facing Israel." The head of the commission's disciplinary division made it clear to Ben Shabbat the rules that a civil servant must not take part in acts that might be interpreted as political.
