Defense Ministry Director-General Udi Adam apologized to Croatia for not being able to supply F16s to Croatia because of US opposition.
During a working visit to Croatia, Adam said that "the Ministry of Defense attaches great importance to the deepening of cooperation between Israel and Croatia. We initiated the sale of IAF F-16s, which included Israeli know-how and technology. The sale, a process of professional and open dialogue between Israel and Croatia, was conducted professionally and judiciously throughout the process.
"Unfortunately, the conditions were not met and we were unable to realize the transaction because of problems that could not have been expected and were not under the control of the countries. The Israeli Ministry of Defense expects to continue fruitful cooperation with Croatia. We will do our utmost to deepen relations in a wide range of fields, "the director-general of the Defense Ministry promised.
