Deputy Knesset Speaker Nava Boker asked Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit on Thursday to examine and cancel the appointment of Raja Za'atara to the Haifa municipality's security committee.
Boker wrote to Mandelblit,"It is inconceivable that a person like Raja Za'atara, who founded BDS with the aim of promoting the international boycott of the State of Israel, compared the murderous terrorist organization Islamic State to Zionism and claimed that the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah were legitimate organizations would serve on a committee dealing with such sensitive matters."
