Lod District Court Judge Chaggai Tarsi accepted the position of the Shin Bet and the police and ordered a hearing on the appeal against the detention in the absence of the minors, who were not brought before them for the hearing.
Their lawyers refused to hold the hearing and informed the court in writing that they still insist the hearing be held in the presence of the minors "since the appellants are not given the basic right to conduct due process, while in the background their allegations are investigated in a process including acts of abuse, humiliation, and use of improper means. The appellants' counsel is unable to carry out their work at all," the lawyers wrote, noting that they insist on conducting the hearing in the presence of the minors.
