Elections are taking place today for the leadership of Kiryat Ye'arim (Telz-Stone) in the Judean hills, west of Jerusalem, following the passing of Mayor Avraham Rosenthal, who had a heart attack in November, a week and a half after the last elections.
Vying for the position are Yitzhak Ravitz, the son of former Knesset member Rabbi Avraham Ravitz, and businessman Yanki Pelai, who served in the past as deputy director of the haredi-religious weekly Mishpacha. According to the Interior Ministry, 3,205 eligible voters will vote in five polling stations, one of which is accessible. The polling stations will close at 22:00.
