Yair (Yaya) Fink, a candidate in the Labor Party primaries, filed a petition today with the Supreme Court, calling on the court to intervene in the election financing law, defined by Fink as "offensive and discriminatory".
The petition claims that "while all current Knesset members receive grants of hundreds of thousands of shekels unconditionally and without any connection to the results, external candidates must provide personal guarantees, raise large sums of money and risk a very large financial blow without receiving a refund if they are not elected." Judge Neil Hendel ruled that a hearing on the matter would take place in the coming weeks.
