Chairman Tamir Idan of the Sdot Negev Regional Council has responded to the landing of a plane connected to incendiary ballons in council region by saying, "This is a serious escalation. Hamas is exploiting the period to arm itself, and this is happening while we are pouring the Qatari money into the Gaza Strip."
He concluded, "Hamas is determining the rules of the game. This time there must be an IDF response."
