A police officer suffered light facial injuries on Sunday afternoon, during the arrest of an apparently-drunk pedestrian on Highway 90 near Be'er Ora, north of Eilat, who was endangering himself on the shoulders and allegedly throwing stones at vehicles.
Police sent to the scene and reinforcements managed to overpower the man after he resisted them. During the effort, he attacked one of the policemen with his fists. The policeman was lightly injured in the face and he was evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment. The attacker was detained for questioning.
