Southwestern Japan hit by 5.0 earthquake

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 hit the Kumamoto Prefecture in southwestern Japan on Thursday evening.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warnings were issued.
