A senior official in the Defense Ministry says the readiness of Israel's ground forces for war is at a low point not seen in years and that "the public needs to know that the price we pay will be really terrible," according to Israel Defense Forces Radio.
The source put a lot of the blame on former chief of staff Benny Gantz, saying, "After [former chief of staff Gabi] Ashkenazi rehabilitated the IDF following the failure in Lebanon 2, Gantz neglected and destroyed everything that Ashkenazi had rehabilitated."
