Israel’s departure from UNESCO, the UN’s cultural agency, officially comes into effect on Tuesday.
"UNESCO is a body that continues to rewrite history, among other things, by attempts to erase the Jewish connection to Jerusalem," said Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon.
Danon added, "Israel will not be a member of an organization whose goal is to act against it and become a manipulative tool that is guided by Israel's enemies."
