Israel Aircraft Industries has transferred tens of millions of shekels from public funds to finance salary expenses and other expenses of its workers committee for years, without the organization being required to report the identity of the employees and the detailed cost of their employment, according to a special report published on Sunday afternoon by State Comptroller Yoseph Shapira.
The report says the company did not even regularly review the financial statements of the workers' committee and did not perform proper supervision and control over the use of these funds. It also states that there is a phenomenon in which members of the committee devote most of their time or all to the activity of the committee and not to work in the company, without any procedure, summary or arrangement in this matter, without supervision and not in accordance with the collective agreement. Based on a draft of the report, the company says it has started to address its findings.
