The Knesset Labor, Welfare, and Health Committee headed by MK Eli Elalouf approved in second and third readings a bill by Knesset Member Yinon Azulai and other MKs that will recognize seven sick days for spouses and children of organ donors.

Today, a person is entitled to be absent from work because of the illness of a spouse or parent at the expense of sick days up to six days a year, and only on condition that the dependent family member is completely dependent on the help of the other person. Payment for this absence is provided under the Sick Pay Law.
