The Jewish Agency today published data for 2018 immigration: More than 29,600 new immigrants came to Israel from around the world this year, compared with more than 28,220 in 2017, an increase of about 5 percent.
The country with the largest number of immigrants in 2018 is Russia with more than 10,500 immigrants, a significant increase of about 45% compared to the previous year.
Significant numbers of new immigrants also registered this year from the Ukraine with more than 6,500 immigrants, a decrease of about 9% compared to last year.
